Aston Martin is celebrating the release of the next James Bond film, No Time To Die, by announcing a pair of exclusive limited edition models. They have been created by the firm’s bespoke division – Q by Aston Martin.
The Vantage 007 Edition is inspired by the V8 which appeared in The Living Daylights back in 1987 according to Aston Martin. The Vantage also features in the much-anticipated new Bond movie. Bond, played once again by Daniel Craig, uncovers for the car from his personal lock-up in London. Unique exterior styling includes a bespoke mesh grille and a yellow rear diffuser, and buyers can also choose to have their car equipped with limited edition skis and a ski rack.
The Vantage is painted in Cumberland Grey paired with a cabin trimmed in obsidian black leather and dark chrome. As you might expect, there are plenty of James Bond references with manual cars getting 007 branding on the centre console, plus sun visors embroidered with the radio frequency, 96.60 (FM), which 007 buffs will know was the Russian police frequency Bond used to aid his escape in The Living Daylights.
There are plenty more 007-inspired details. The carbon-fibre backed seats feature unique heritage fluting that harks back to then Bond actor Timothy Dalton’s V8, while the outline of cello ‘f holes’ are reminders of the cello chase scene. A laser-etched gadget plaque, and cross hairs etched onto the automatic transmission model’s paddle shifters complete the look. Limited to just 100 examples globally, deliveries are due to start early in 2021.
If the smaller Aston Martin isn’t quite exclusive enough for you, then the 007 Edition based on the DBS Superleggera might be more to your liking. It is limited to just 25 units, and is powered by the regular DBS’s 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12, a unit that produces 715bhp and a substantial 900Nm of torque – that latter number is the biggest of any Aston yet produced say the company.
Naturally, the car features a raft of 007-inspired alterations beginning with special Ceramic Grey paintwork that’s joined by a roof, mirror caps, splitter, diffuser and rear ‘Aeroblade’ in black carbon-fibre. The unique appearance is completed by diamond-turned 21-inch Y-spoke wheels finished in Gloss Black and special badging. Inside, there’s red detailing for the leather trim along with 007 branding on the door cards, armrest buckle badge and rear sub-woofer cover. There’s a special sill plaque, too.
Unsurprisingly, there’s a price to pay for all this James Bond-ness that’s like to leave your wallet shaken not stirred! The Aston Martin Vantage costs from £161,000 while the DBS Superleggera carries a £279,025 price tag.
No Time To Die will be released around the world in November 2020 and will feature no fewer than four iconic Aston Martin sports cars: the iconic DB5; the classic Aston Martin V8; the brand’s latest super GT, DBS Superleggera; and the exceptional Aston Martin Valhalla – the company’s forthcoming mid-engined hypercar.
