The market is now fully awake to these gorgeous cars, a fact reflected in their asking price with Ferrari 365s changing hands for around £200K.
This elegant Ferrari 365 GT is fresh to market – fully restored, right-hand drive, low mileage and amazingly on offer at No Reserve with Classic Car Auctions at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show Sale 2023.
The ultimate grand cruiser of its day and still a superb car for any Ferrari enthusiast, this fabulous, right-hand drive, four-seat Ferrari 365 GT has been in a private collection for years. A rare car with only approximately 800 built of which only 52 were right-hand drive, so who knows how many of these right-hand drive models still exist! With just 40,000 miles covered it makes it all the more desirable.
Designed and created by the legendary styling house Pininfarina, the 365 GT 2+2 debuted at the Paris Salon in October 1967 as a luxurious Grand Tourer capable of carrying four passengers. It houses a 4.4-litre V12 engine developing 320bhp fed through a five-speed gearbox and offering 150mph and 0-60mph in 7.0 seconds.
Other refinements include independent suspension all round, power-assisted steering, air conditioning and electric windows. This example was originally supplied new in 1970 to the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Hong Kong.
Finished from new in Oro Kelso (Gold), it’s now resplendent in Grigio Metallizato with a Black Connolly leather interior. It was shipped to the UK in September 1974 and, CCA understand it was restored in the early 1990s.
Simon Langsdale, of Classic Car Auctions, who sourced the car, says of it: “Understated and elegant are not words often associated with Ferrari, but they’re certainly fitting when describing the Ferrari 365 GT. As far as classic Ferraris go, the 365 GT 2+2 is about as driver friendly as they come. It was the first Ferrari to feature standard power steering and brakes for the American market, an independent self-levelling rear suspension, and optional A/C. Other classic Ferraris are intimidating, the 365 GT is inviting.”
This 1970 Ferrari 365 GT is just one of many great vehicles coming to Auction as CCA’s first sale of 2023 at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show 24th – 26th March at the NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. All lots are available to view online where you can also register to bid in person, on the phone, online or via commission.
