With a total sale of £210,000, 40 of the 57 lots at the latest Letchworth Motor Auctions sale found new owners thanks to auctioneer Jim Ronan, with some of the remaining vehicles under offer after the sale.
Letchworth Motor Auctions, Hertfordshire’s largest independent motoring house, hammered away an impressive 70 per cent in its second Classic, Retro and Performance vehicle sale.
Managing Director Simon Morgan said: “We are extremely pleased with the results of our second sale. We had more vehicles, more sales and more interest, creating a good foundation for 2023. As ever, the team have worked hard to make these sales a success and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow in this sector next year.”
Sale highlights included a low mileage Porsche 718 Cayman S-A, which sold for £37,980*, an Audi S3 Black ED Quattro sold at £27,000* and a Mercedes 320 CE Cabriolet which exceeded its upper estimate with the hammer falling at £13,625*.
In the classic section, a 1979 Ford Capri 3.0 Ghia finished in Solar Gold Metallic which had covered just 41,111miles, sold at £11,336*, while a 1963 Morris Mini Minor requiring light commissioning saw the hammer down at £12,865*. The 1991 Jaguar XJS HE with an extensive history file sold for £6,625*.
It was the entry level vehicles including an array of modern classics and project cars where the most bargains could be found. A BMW Z3 found a new home for £900*, a Peugeot 206 Convertible sold for £1,150* and a VW Golf Cabriolet for £1,428*.
