Letchworth Motor Auctions, Hertfordshire’s largest independent motoring house, will hold its inaugural sale for Classic, Retro and Performance cars on Saturday 9th July.
Letchworth Motor Auctions first sale will see around 50-60 cars go under the hammer with well-known classic auctioneer Jim Ronan wielding the gavel, with a second sale already planned for 29th October.
Managing Director Simon Morgan, who is also a keen car collector, said: “We’re very excited to be hosting our first sale in this market. As an owner of classics myself, the cars we are consigning show the breadth of the market and we’re sure there will be cars to suit all tastes and budgets.”
Lots on offer already include a stunning 1980 Rolls Royce Corniche in Caribbean Aqua Blue, with an estimate of £32,500-£36,500. The car has undergone over £25,00 of improvements whilst with the previous owner, who is the proprietor of a highly regarded Rolls Royce and Bentley Specialist, including a full engine rebuild and conversion to fuel injection designed specifically for the Corniche 6.75 litre V8 engine.
A 1949 Triumph Roadster that was rescued from a barn in 1981 and restored over a two-year period is also up for sale. Described as starting and driving well, the Roadster is now in need of some light cosmetic work but has been well-maintained and is sold with a selection of tools and travelling spares. Estimated price is £25,000-£30,000.
Cars from every era are available including a 1961 BMW Isetta, a 1970 Triumph Herald 2000 and 73’ VW Westfalia Camper Van, a 1985 Vauxhall Nova Merit Convertible, and a 1991 Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth.
This includes modern classics from the 90s and noughties such as the 1999 Saab 9-3 SE Turbo and 83’ BMW 535L Auto E3, and the 2003 Jaguar XKR Convertible Auto finished in vibrant red.

All of the cars are available to view from 12noon until 4.30pm on Wednesday 6th, 9am to 6pm on Thursday 7thand Friday 8th July. On Saturday 9th July, cars can be viewed from 9.30am with the auction starting 12noon. Entry to the sale is charged at £5 per person.
