Prices announced for the Audi Q8 e-tron

Flagship EV, the Q8 e-tron, to cost from £67,800.

Looking for an electric SUV with premium appeal? Then you might want to add the Q8 e-tron to your shortlist.

A change of name for Audi’s flagship e-tron SUV has seen it become the Q8 e-tron, and it’s available to order now with prices ranging from £67,800 to £117,000. Also available in sleeker Sportback form, buyers can choose from four trim levels – Sport, S Line, Black Edition and Vorsprung.

The exterior hasn’t changed a great deal compared to the previous e-tron, most of the changes focused on the grille which gets an LED light strip at the top and a redesigned 2D four-ring badge. There’s been a greater focus on aerodynamics, though, with both variants seeing a small but useful reduction in drag that will benefit range.

There are three powertrain options to choose from, the line-up kicking off with the Q8 50 e-tron that uses a 95kWh battery pack and claims a range of 281 miles in SUV form. This model is priced from £67,800 to £89,800. Step up to the 55 e-tron that costs from £77,800 and there’s a larger 114kWh battery pack that allows a claimed range for the SUV of 330 miles.

Topping the line-up is the SQ8 that uses the same larger battery but comes with a three-motor powertrain that gives a 0-62mph time of 4.5 secs and a claimed range of 284 miles. Worth noting is that the slipperier shape of the Sportback increases range from 9-14 miles depending on variant.

Given the Q8 e-tron hasn’t changed a great deal on the outside it’s no great surprise that it’s also pretty much business as usual in the cabin. That means you’ll get the same excellent build quality, along with premium materials and plenty of standard kit; all models get the likes of Audi’s Virtual Cockpit instrument display, heated and electrically-adjustable seats and climate control that can be pre-conditioned remotely via the myAudi smartphone app.

Buyers can also choose from a number of options packs including the £2995 Technology Pack which includes a B&O audio system and head-up display while the Technology Pack Pro adds four-zone climate control, a panoramic roof and more. The Tour Pack and City Assist Pack cost £1995 and £1495 respectively and add all manner of useful driver assistance tech.

Andrew Doyle, Director Audi UK, says: “The introduction of the new and improved Q8 e-tron family heralds a new era for Audi, one that prioritises customer’s wants and needs. It’s the first of a variety of incredible new products Audi will be bringing to market in the coming years that will continue to set the standard in the world of premium electric mobility.”
