Austin Pedal Cars showroom now open

Large crowds visited as doors opened for the first time at the April Scramble.

Austin Pedal Cars opened a brand-new Bicester Heritage showroom during the April Scramble, featuring bright, welcoming décor designed to appeal to J40 enthusiasts of all ages.

Attracting large crowds throughout the weekend, the Austin Pedal Cars team displayed a number of J40 models, ranging from a well-used ex-fairground car to a glorious Settrington Cup racer. Star of the show went to a blue J40 fresh from an extensive restoration at the Austin Pedal Cars factory, the end result being one of the finest examples of the diminutive Austin in the world that is now offered for sale.

In addition to the cars, a range of Austin parts and accessories were displayed, along with a glimpse into the future provided by some brand-new parts designed especially for the forthcoming Austin Continuation Car.

The Bicester Heritage site will be home to the soon to launch Continuation Car, the first Austin pedal car for over 50 years. Presenting the familiar J40 shape, but with a brand-new pedal system and an all-aluminium body, the car contains a number of engineering marvels refined over 2-years of development. Interested buyers will be able to view, sample and discuss the J40 Continuation Car exclusively at Bicester Heritage.

Mark Burnett, Managing Director of Austin Pedal Cars, said “It was a real pleasure to welcome so many guests to our new showroom at the April Scramble and to see the interest people have in the cars. We’ll present a number of cars for sale at the showroom, along with our full range of Austin spares and accessories and will also create a number of experiences for younger classic car enthusiasts to enjoy at the Bicester Heritage site.”

The new showroom is just the start of an exciting year for Austin. A brand-new Austin Pedal Cars website will soon launch, featuring pedal cars for sale, parts, and accessories and relevant news and features. The J40 Continuation model will launch later this year after 2-years of fastidious development, and a comprehensive Austin J40 history book, written by Austin Pedal Cars and David Whyley, will also launch later this year, published by Porter Press.
